Faculty Welcomes Junior Professor Michele Brott as New Head of the Chair of “Chemistry Education” at FVST

As of September 1, 2026, Junior Professor Michele Brott has assumed the leadership of the Chair of “Chemistry Education” at the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering.

Junior Professor Brott completed her teacher training degree in Chemistry and Economics and Law for secondary schools at Friedrich Schiller University Jena in 2012. In 2016, she obtained her doctorate at the same university with a dissertation entitled “Students and Student Teachers Learn More Together?! – Practice from the Very Beginning. Differentiated Chemistry Teaching Designed by Chemistry Student Teachers in Their First Semesters.”

From 2017 to 2018, she completed her teacher traineeship at the Gera Teacher Training Seminar and the Goethe-Gymnasium/Rutheneum since 1608 in Gera. She passed her Second State Examination in 2018.

Since 2019, she had been working as a research associate at the University of Potsdam. In 2024, she took on a substitute professorship in Chemistry Education at Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

The Dean warmly welcomed Junior Professor Brott to the Faculty Council meeting on September 1, 2026.
